Writing and Editing Resources

LSA English Language Institute Graduate Writing Clinic

The ELI Graduate Writing Clinic is free service open to all members of the U-M community, including international students, faculty, staff, and scholars. In Writing Clinic sessions, you will get help identifying your writing strengths and weaknesses, as well as guided self-help designed to help you become a critical, independent writer.

Wordy.com (copyediting, proofreading)

A key feature of Wordy’s services is to offer fair pricing for both clients and editors. Since trust is important for proofreading and copy-editing, we believe in establishing long-term relationships, which is difficult – if not impossible – to do if the primary focus is on pricing. We’re also working hard to make the ordering process – and the entire experience of sending off a text for proofreading – as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Guru.com (a variety of freelancers)

We strive to be the premier platform where professionals go to connect, collaborate, and get work done. We believe that the best work is done in a flexible and secure environment. With transparency comes trust, and with a community that’s built on meritocracy, people are eager to set aside differences in geography, politics and religion to share and profit from economic opportunities.
