What we can do for you

The University of Michigan College of Engineering Associate Dean of Research office can assist with proposal sections such as outreach, broader impacts, education and workforce development, diversity, culture, and inclusion, as well as other similar plans. We can connect faculty with the groups below, as well as others in the University.

DEI Faculty Research Grant Consultation

The Culture, Grants and Advancement department within the Office of Culture, Community and Equity (OCCE) offers one-on-one assistance with the DEI, broader impacts, community engagement, education and outreach-related sections of research grant proposals. Internal Resources

OCCE – The Office of Culture, Community and Equity, works horizontally across all units to ensure the work of the Culture Pillar, including DEI, is not siloed or duplicated. OCCE will serve as the catalyst to drive a culture of inclusion and equity and will lead DEI 2.0 implementation efforts.

CEDER  – is a University of Michigan School of Education Center for Education Design, Evaluation, and Research devoted exclusively to offering high-quality designs, evaluations, and research on teaching, learning, leadership, and policy at multiple levels of education. Specifically, CEDER supports the design and development of education curricula, programs, technology tools, and software for other units on campus and for K-12 and informal learning settings in surrounding communities.

CEO – the Center for Education and Outreach CEO supports and advances the University of Michigan’s commitment to educational outreach and academic excellence. CEO partners with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement programs that inform, engage, and inspire a diverse community of scholars.

CRLT-ENGIN – The Center for Research on Learning and Teaching in Engineering (CRLT-Engin) at the University of Michigan serves the College of Engineering by promoting excellence and innovation in learning and teaching. Established in 2004, CRLT-Engin offers a range of evidence-based programs and services for the engineering community.

PE+RI – The Public Engagement & Research Impacts team at the University of Michigan works to catalyze a robust and interconnected Public Engagement and Research Impacts infrastructure and community across the University of Michigan. PE+RI aims to connect faculty, students, and staff to the right partner, resource, or tool at the right time to support ethical and effective efforts to amplify the public impacts of research.
